Can I Donate to Missionaries Who Are Reaching Their Own Country?
National missionaries, also called indigenous missionaries, are effectively reaching their own people groups. When you support GFA World, you can donate to missionaries who are actively serving in Africa and Asia within their own culture and nation.
National mission workers now outnumber foreign workers by more than 30 to 1.[1] In fact, the Center for the Study of Global Christianity predicts that the number of national missionaries will explode to 17 million by 2050 while the number of foreign workers will increase to 600,000.[2]
“[National] workers toil to bring healing and hope,” one of our staff says. “They touch thousands of lives with the tangible love of God through slum, leprosy, medical and disaster relief ministries. Thanks to them, men, women and children who otherwise might have gone without help … have been blessed with much-needed aid.”[3]
If you want to donate to indigenous missionaries, GFA World is a great option.
The missionaries who serve in our ministry in Africa and Asia are cost efficient. They can serve on average, for $450 per month. They live in homes just like those of their community. They wear similar clothes and enjoy the same cultural customs. Our sponsorship program encourages you to select a missionary from our online list. You will receive their photo and testimony. Periodically, you will also receive regional updates so you can remain in prayer for your sponsored missionary. You will be encouraged by all God is doing in the region, and you will be a part of it!
Gifts are another great way to support national missionaries.
When you provide a missionary or pastor with a bicycle or motorcycle, it enlarges the area in which they can serve. You can also gift items like Bibles, Gospel tracts, warm clothing, video projector kits, literature and other helpful resources. Another life-changing gift is to help pay tuition for a man or woman to attend Bible college and become a national missionary.
When you sponsor a GFA-supported pastor or missionary or buy him or her a practical gift like a bicycle, you are helping provide valuable support. You can play a vital role in sharing the Good News in areas that have never heard of God’s gift of salvation. God will use your generosity!
